Garbage & Recycling

Important Pick-Up Information

Waste must be separated. Please only put recyclables into the cart with a blue lid. Waste Management would like you to place recyclables directly into the designated cart (not bagged). However, please bag your regular garbage.

Carts should be rolled to the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your service day. Place your carts within 18 inches of the curb (carts should not be in the street). The arrows on the cart lids should be pointed towards the street. Cart lids should be closed. There must be at least three feet between the carts (as well as any fixed objects, such as a mailbox).

*If your carts are not properly placed, they will not be emptied. Only carts supplied by Waste Management will be emptied.

Holidays Affecting Garbage Pick-up

Service will be pushed back by one day following a holiday (see list below). For example, if Christmas Day falls on a Tuesday and your normal service day is Wednesday, service will take place on Thursday (one day later).

Replacement Carts or Parts

If you need a replacement cart or part, please contact City Hall at (920) 467-7900, ext. 116. You will need to know what size cart you have: 32 gallon, 64 gallon, or 96 gallon.

Dumpsters

Refuse receptacles (dumpsters) may be temporarily parked unenclosed in the front yard of any residential zoned premise or the adjacent public right-of-way with advanced approval.

Compost: Leaves & Grass Clippings

Curb pick-up is only available for leaves. This service begins October 15 and runs through the week of Thanksgiving, weather permitting.

Grass clippings, wood scraps (must be untreated and unpainted), dirt, pieces of broken-off pavement and/or asphalt, and the like can be unloaded in the designated areas at the Department of Public Works complex located on Hamann Drive. The complex is open to the public Monday through Saturday during daylight hours.

Sheboygan County Household Hazardous Waste Program

Sheboygan County offers several collection events each year to properly dispose of household hazardous waste items.
